Step 1 : Make room for energy (Remove clutter)

Start by removing the clutter at home. Most people own things, which have outlived their usefulness. Clutter prevents us from moving on. In order to move on from the past and to invite a fresh inflow, it is important to make room.

Remove mental clutter

 What most people forget to remove is the mental baggage that prevents them from leaving the past and starting afresh. While making physical space, we also need to open our minds to greater possibilities and that can only be done, by removing the baggage we all carry with us, and bringing in fresh ideas and intentions to take their place.

Step 2 : Add energy (placement of the object)

A part of Feng Shui deals with the placement of objects within the physical space created by removing the clutter, and hence inviting and chanalizing energies towards a goal. Some such objects are;

Three-legged toad with a coin in mouth

This auspicious creature attracts good fortune into your home. Place the toad in any of the corners diagonally opposite your front door for best effect. You should definitely have one toad facing out to collect the money and one facing in to bring the money back into the house. You can keep your toads below the table, behind areas of your home, but never in the bedroom. To enhance their effect, place them on top of paper currency.

Arowana (Golden dragon fish)

The arowana, or golden dragon fish, is a powerful energizer of wealth, luck and happiness. Arowanas should be displayed on the desk or table in a group of nine.

Gold Coins

Circular with a square hole in the centre, these Chinese coins represent the powerful union of heaven and earth. Display them with the yang side up, which typically has four Chinese characters.

Tips to attract wealth and luck:

Carry three coins tied with red cord in your bag. Hang nine coins above the front door of your house, or six coins in your car. Tape nine coins to the underside of your floormat, stick three coins to all your important files. You could even attach three coins to your telephone for successful conversations

Gem trees

The Prosperity Gem Tree signifies continual growth, and assists those in business to acquire wealth and maintain in their state of finances. Its branches are laden with coloured gems, which symbolise the growth of prosperity. Crystals empowers the mind and expedities problem-solving by promoting creativity with intelligent decisiveness. Display one in your office to give you an edge in business negotiations, or at home to bring wealth and luck to the household.

Step 3 : Direct Energy (Changing attitude about prosperity)

Now that you have succeeded in creating both physical and mental space, and have taken the necessary steps to attract energy into your home, focus your own energies towards, wealth and prosperity, and hence pave the way for greater success. This can be done by changing your attitude towards money. If you have any negativity towards wealth and money, try and see the advantages that wealth brings you and chanelise your thoughts towards generating greater wealth.

Vastu for a Stress Free Home

KITCHEN

Research conducted on kitchens in the southeast locations shows that occupants of such house are prosperous. The best place for a kitchen is the southeast portion of the house, followed by the northwest. Avoid having the kitchen in the south west corner. The health of female members gets affected if the kitchen is in the southwest.

BATHROOM

The bathroom should be located in the northwest or west region. Overhead water tanks can be placed on the roof in the southwest direction. Underground water tanks are beneficial if located in the northeast direction.

STORE ROOM

It is said that a storeroom in the northwest corner leads to abundant supply of essential commodities.

CENTRAL AREA

The central area, which is called “Brahmasthan” should be free from any kind of obstructions like pillars, staircase, wall etc.

PICTURES AND WALL DECORATIONS

Images or statues in the house also have a significant impact on the residents. Pictures depicting war scenes or paintings of sorrow, struggle, violence, tragedy or calamities have no place in the house or office.

STUDY ROOM

The study room should be located in the east, northeast or east section of the house.  Students should face the east or north direction while studying. Vibrant colours like yellow, blue, orange or violet should be used more in such rooms. A student may not be able to concentrate if the study room is located at the southwest or south area.

BEDROOM

The master bedroom should be in southwest corner to enable the head of the family to guide the family’s fortunes wisely. This bedroom is one of the three most important locations in the house, the others being the main entrance, and the kitchen. We spend approximately a third of our lives in this room. Hence, if we sleep in a good spot facing a good direction, then it is most likely that we would be subject to substantial amounts of positive power to prosper.

The bed should be placed in such a way as to ensure maximum open space in the north and the east. The head of a person when sleeping should always be on east or south. It should never be in the north, as this cause bad luck.

Using the right colour can make your bedroom so warm, so dramatic, that it becomes your interior garden.

 If you want to create an atmosphere that is soothing yet energizing, consider pink, light shades of yellow or blue.   Integrate all of these colours into your design or focus on shades of one or two of them.  Black or any such dark colours should be avoided.     Also avoid colours that make your heart race, like purple and red.

If you have a computer in your bedroom, move it to another room or at least into the living room.

Remove the stress and worry of your work from the place where your focus should be relaxing and sleeping.

PLACE FOR PLANTS

a) Tulsi is the best in the center of the plot.

b) Bamboo, Tulsi and Lotus are the best in the northeast. Never have a Banana plant in this place.

c) Bamboo and Banyan can be planted in the east, but never a Peepal tree.

d) In the southeast, Pomegranate even before constructions of the house brings in wealth and strength. Never have Banyan, Peepal or any other milky plants.

e) In the south, never have Mango, Ashwath trees.

f) Southwest is the perfect place to plant an Imli plant but never grows Blackberries in this region.

g) West is best for growing Peepal, but never a Banyan, Banana or Mango Tree.

h) Northwest: Never have thorny plants like cactus or any fancy plants with thorns in it. It is the best place for the Bel plant used in worship of Lord Shiva.

i) North: The right place to grow Money Plant, Tulsi and Lotus.
